Gifted and Talented at West Melton
“A gifted student shows an ability and/or potential in one or more areas, significantly greater than that of their peers. A talented student demonstrates a high level of performance in one or more areas, significantly greater than that of their peers.”
At Te Kura o Papatahora West Melton we plan programmes aimed to meet the individual needs of all ākonga, including those identified as Gifted and Talented. We use differentiated programmes to meet the needs of the learners within the classroom and use inquiry learning and higher order thinking strategies to challenge our gifted learners.
